One of the
world's largest international airlines requested DeVore to design a modification for their
B737 wingtip position lights to eliminate the many delays that they were experiencing.
The result was a simple light assembly replacement with a re-rated 6,500 hour
quartz halogen lamp. |

New B737 Wingtip Position Lights Developed For A
Major US Airline
will eliminate costly delays.
DeVore has developed a new line of
B737 Wingtip Position Lights for retrofit programs. When asked by a major carrier to
develop a system that would provide greater reliability for 737 operations, DeVore
welcomed the opportunity to apply our engineering and design skills in development of an
improved position light assembly. The result is a simple replacement assembly requiring no
modifications and only a few minutes to install. The older Incandescent lamps are replaced
with our Halogen lamps, improving performance from <300 hours to > 6500 hours. The
same system is also available for aft position lights.

Uses quartz halogen
lamps with nickel contact re-rated to 6,500 hours. (Replaces 300 hour incandescent
lamp which has lead contact) |

New light assembly has
quarter turn fasteners to minimize time for lamp changes. |
 |
Light assembly is direct
replacement for existing positions lights. No aircraft mods necessary. Uses
same red/green lenses. |

Aft position lights use
same quarts halogen lamp re-rated to over 50,000 hours. |

With DeVore Wingtip Position Lights
McDonnell Douglas (now
Boeing) selected DeVore's forward wingtip position lights for their MD80 / MD90 / MD95 /
Boeing 717 aircraft as a direct replacement for their factory installed units. Our kits
include all installation drawings and a copy of the STC and are form / fit with the
existing mounting holes and lenses. It is a dual lamp design with no reflector degradation
or maintenance required. The rated lamp life of the DeVore unit is 4200 hours for the
primary lamp and 6800 hours for the backup lamp.
