DeVore Products Overview
Tel-Tail Aircraft Vertical Fin
Stabilizer Lighting Systems
DeVore designs and
manufactures vertical tail floodlights for almost every type of aircraft
produced. Initially referred to as "logo lights", TEL-TAIL lights are
much more than that, providing important visibility for other aircraft
during ground and flight operations.
Helicopter Exterior Lighting
Systems
DeVore's line of
helicopter lighting systems include the Tel-Tail rotor illumination
light, Forward Facing Recognition Lights (FFRLs), Main Rotor
Illumination lights and Fuselage / Logo floodlights.
The first helicopter Tel-Tail rotor floodlight installation was on a
Bell 206 in 1977. The system was instantly popular due to
the obvious safety benefits created by brilliantly illuminating
the tail rotor at night during ground
operations. They also assist in visually tracking the direction
and speed of a helicopter in flight at night. Because they
generally travel outside traditional fixed-wing traffic patterns,
the need for helicopters to "see and be seen" is paramount.
As with the fixed wing aircraft mentioned above, DeVore tail rotor
floodlights can be found on most production helicopters, sold as either
a factory standard (or option) or as an after-market retrofit kit.
Additionally, DeVore produces a line of fuselage floodlights
(traditionally used to illuminate EMS and television news logos) and
Forward Facing Recognition Lights (FFRLs) for many different helo
applications.
All DeVore helicopter lighting kits come complete in every detail
and are ready to install. They include a copy of the STC, all
required parts, drawings, installation instructions and
authorizations and are produced under FAA PMA.
We are pleased to
announce receipt of STC for all LED lights for the Robinson R44
Helicopter.

Pulse
Light Approach Slope Indicator
The PLASI 2000 system is
a visual approach aid used at airports and heliports worldwide. PLASI
units assist the pilot by providing a light signal which indicates
whether the aircraft is above, below or on glide slope during it's
approach to landing. Other PLASI units have been developed for temporary
installations, including a Mini-PLASI and an Infrared (IR) Mini-PLASI
for tactical operations.
Flash Measuring Gun
The FMG4400D was developed by
DeVore to meet a requirement set forth by the FAA to annually determine if an air
carrier's aircraft strobe lights still meet minimum intensity levels. These
"guns" are portable and easy to use, saving the airlines money and maintenance
hours while complying with the FAA's regulations.
Other Aircraft Lighting Systems
DeVore also
manufactures and distributes various internal and external lighting
systems for airline, corporate and general aviation aircraft.
DeVore is the North American distributor for Anti-Collision (strobe)
lighting systems and Navigation Lights produced in Switzerland by
Flight Components.
Other Product Lines and Capabilities
Safe Flight AOA Indexers
DeVore has been
manufacturing cockpit Angle Of Attack (AOA) Indexers for Safe Flight Instrument Corp.
under contract since 1993. AOA Indexers provide the pilot with aircraft angle of incidence
information during the approach phase of flight. Safe Flight AOA Indexers can be found on
various commercial aircraft, including Cessna Citations, Hawker 125 and Hawker Horizon
aircraft. Over 1000 units have been manufactured to date.
